Les Tropicaux finds inspiration in the world of fashion, art and nature, interpreting tropical design with a modern and unexpected sensibility. Vivid colors and resplendent patterns define this collection, with our feature fabrics capturing attention while the complementary textiles further enhance the visual experience of the collection.
A selection of these textiles are woven with performance fibers. These patterns were created to live indoors, outdoors and everywhere in between. Offering easy care and high lightfastness properties, these fabrics capture the appearance and sensibility of natural fibers.
Paisley Tropical, Figi, Vernazza and Foret Sauvage were influenced by the extraordinary work of Emilio Pucci, an Italian fashion designer who rose to fame in the 1950’s. These patterns reflect his style, embracing joyful, spontaneous flowing graphics in bold and unique color combinations.
20th century painters approached their work in entirely new ways, most notably rejecting the classical style of painting. Admiring this fertile period of change, Kazumi turned to the landscapes of Fauvist painters when creating Paysage. Poissons Tropicaux reflects the art of Georges Braque who was a significant contributor to the Cubist movement. Henri Matisse’s paper cut-outs and collages inspired OD Aquarium.
Irregularity and symmetry both occur naturally in the wild and can be seen in the wings of butterflies, striped zebras, spotted jaguars, the leaves and petals of tropical flowers and more. These flora and fauna offer a wealth of beauty to be admired and are a continuous source of inspiration for Clarence House. El Morocco, Serengeti, Dans La Jungle and La Palme visually transport the senses on an exploration of the splendors throughout the natural world.
